Zusammenfassung:1533536 Separating sheets from piles K J LITTLEWOOD 28 April 1977 [28 April 1976] 17858/77 Heading B8R Fabric sheets in a pile 7 are separated by a pad 22 of carding cloth. A feed device 6, e.g. a needle table, is lowered on to the pile and the pad 22 engages the edge of the topmost sheet. A pulse of fluid then actuates a cylinder motor 9 causing rapid outward and upward movement of the pad along a guideway in member 15 to separate the sheet edge. A finger 23 associated with the pad engages an abutment plate 24 urging resilient pads 42 into firm engagement with the remainder of the pile. The cycle may be repeated several times to separate a batch of sheets which is thereafter fed away on device 6.
