Carboxyl cationite copolymer prepn. - by copolymerising unsatd. carboxylic acid and vinyl!-contg. amide in acetic acid soln. dispersed in silicone liquid

Prepn. of carboxyl cationites (ion exchange resin) comprises (a) dissolving an unsatd. carboxylic acid (I) and vinyl-contg. amide comonomer (II) and radical plymerisation initiator in a 5-50% acetic acid at a (co)monomer concn. of 10-30%, (b) dispersing the resulting mixt. in a liquid silicone selec...

Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Prepn. of carboxyl cationites (ion exchange resin) comprises (a) dissolving an unsatd. carboxylic acid (I) and vinyl-contg. amide comonomer (II) and radical plymerisation initiator in a 5-50% acetic acid at a (co)monomer concn. of 10-30%, (b) dispersing the resulting mixt. in a liquid silicone selected from polyethyl-siloxane and polymethylphenylsiloxane in a wt. ratio of reaction mixt. to silicon liquid of 1:3-5 and (c) copolymerising at 20-100 degrees C in suspension. (I) is (meth)acrylic acid and (II) is selected from hexahydro-1,3,5-triacryloyltriazine, N,N'-methylenediacrylamide, N,N'-ethylenedimethacrylamide and N,N'-hexamethylenedimethacrylamide. The wt. ratio of (I):(II) is 3-12:1. The cationites may be produced in the form of spherical granules having a high reversible sorption capacity in respect of proteins and enzymes. They may be used in the separation and purification of e.g. (a) terrilitine from the formation broth Aspergillus terricola (sorption capacity 200 mg/protein per g cationite, sorption reversibility 100%), (b) immunoglobulins of blood serum (sorption capacity 20 mg protein/g cationite, sorption reversibility 100%) and (c) urokinase from human urea (sorption capacity 200-300 mg protein/g cationite).
