Ultrafiltration of liquid with pressurised closed loop recirculation - has make=up liquid introduced using eductor powered with recirculating liquid

Ultrafiltration of a liq. by a semi-permeable membrane utilises a pressurised closed loop recirculation system. A circulating pump recycled the liq. to the filter body. Make-up liq. that enters the recirculating liq. system is introduced by means of an eductor with either single or multiple stages. The eductor is propelled by all or part of the recirculating stream. Used for separating macromolecular particles or associations of low molecular weight particles from solutions, emulsions or dispersions, e.g. dissolved polymers, oil or impurities from water. Avoids using recirculation circuit make-up pump which may be damaged by running dry, solid particles, etc.
