Zusammenfassung:N-substd. 1,2,2-trimethyl-3-carbamoyl cyclopentane-1-carboxylic acids of formula (I) and their acceptable salts are new. In (I), X is H, alkali metal ion or a suitable org. base1 R' is H, or 1-3C alkyl, R2 is opt. branched 2-8C alkyl, 5-6C isoalkylalkoxy mono- or diarylmethyl or pyridyl; or NR'R2 can form a 4-5C ring opt. also contg. an O atom. (I) are choleretics which can dissolve gall stones and which stimulate secretion of enzymes by the pancreas. The cpd. (IR)-1,2,2-trimethyl-3c- (N-(3-isopropoxy)-propyl)-carbamoyl -cyc- lopentane-(1r)-carboxylic acid is specifically claimed.
