Zusammenfassung:A device for automatic adjustment of a roll gap in a mill stand, comprises hollow hydraulic load cells for absorbing or taking up a roll force. Said hydraulic load cells are mounted under chocks of at least one of the rolls and are not affected by the action of hydraulic cylinders adapted to develop a stand prestressing force. The hydraulic cylinders are of the two-chamber type. One of the chambers of each hydraulic cylinder communicates directly with that of the hydraulic load cell, while the other chamber communicates directly with a constant-pressure fluid source.
