Filament threading mechanism - using auxiliary loop round broken filament to draw it into jet

Mechanism for threading a high-speed continuous filament in a spin-draw-texturise integrated unit, where it has to be threaded into a tubular body, incorporates a deflecting unit to pull a broken filament away in a loop to be cut and reinserted by a jet. AN auxiliary thread is used to form a loop behind the deflecting point in the direction of the moving filament, the loop passing round the filament. The gathered or twisted ends of the loop are inserted in the inlet of the jet. The filament is cut in the path to the waste collection unit at a suitable distance from the deflecting point. The system accommodates the high speeds of filament travels, without stretching the operatives and with a redn. in the amt. of wasted material.
