Zusammenfassung:Gas tight slider with sideways opening locking plate used as a closure for the bottom opening of a container for solids fitted with a ring seal which comes into a sealing contact with the locking plate. The locking plate has a bearing on a frame which is movable from a space enclosed by a housing positioned on the side of the opening to a point below the opening. The locking plate is only lifted into the closed position at the end of the inward movement of the frame. The gas tight slider unit also includes a deformable protective ring positioned inside the ring seal and projecting from it.
