Multi system circular knitter - has control for needle groups to work in a reinforcing stretch yarn before it is cut (CS291176)

The appts. is for the insertion and working of a reinforcing stretch yarn in a multi-system circular knitter, partic. for the mfr. of stockings, where the stretch yarn is laid in >=2 knitting systems and cut. A reinforcing yarn is knitted in by one group of needles and, after knitting, the reinforcing yarn is again knitted round most of the fabric for the ends of the yarn to be cut after the last needle of the group. The system ensures that the reinforcing stretch yar is fully secured before the end is cut so that, on reasserting itself, it does not retreat back into the knitted fabric and lead to a fault.
