Zusammenfassung:	The rotary and impact drill for making boreholes in mining and tunnelling operations, uses a pressure medium to obtain impacts at a given frequency and amplitude, which can be applied so as to change the direction of rotation between impacts. By simultaneously reducing the amplitude and the frequency to about 4000 Herz, the complete energy is reduced. This action is taken to reduce the energy lost by turbulence and vibration, and to reduce noise. For combined rotation and impact operation the reversal speed of the drilling rod is increased. The force exerted on the drilling rod is also decreased.
