Chloropropene prodn. by de:hydrochlorination of di:chloropropane - with soln. of sodium butoxide in butanol
Prodn. of chloropropene (I) comprises dehydrochlorination of 1,2-dichloropropane (II) by reacting (pref. at 50-100 degrees C and 1-10 bar) in the liq. phase with a soln. of Na butoxide in n-butanol. (I) is then recovered from the reaction mixt. by distn.. Pref. reaction is at 0-150 degrees C using 1...

Zusammenfassung: | Prodn. of chloropropene (I) comprises dehydrochlorination of 1,2-dichloropropane (II) by reacting (pref. at 50-100 degrees C and 1-10 bar) in the liq. phase with a soln. of Na butoxide in n-butanol. (I) is then recovered from the reaction mixt. by distn.. Pref. reaction is at 0-150 degrees C using 1-2 moles (II) per mole butoxide. The residual mixt. after recovery of (I) is pref. processed to separate (II) and n-butanol (both recycled) and NaCl, used e.g. for electrolysis. (I) is used to make copolymers with vinylidene chloride Pure NaCl is produced with little by-prodn. of water. |
