Zusammenfassung: | 1495872 Railway vehicle wheel brake arrangement SVENSKA A B BROMSREGULATOR 25 Feb 1976 [27 Feb 1975] 6961/76 Heading F2E A railway vehicle wheel brake arrangement comprises in combination a spring-applied, fluid-pressure released parking brake actuator 5 and a fluid-controlled service brake actuator 2, with a built-in slack adjuster, the actuators 2, 5 acting in the same direction to apply brake blocks to wheel 3-the parking brake actuator 5 is remote from the service brake actuator 2 and the piston of the parking brake actuator 5 is connected by force transmitting means (e.g. at least one pull rod 6) to a connection part 21 of the service brake actuator 2 so that the slack adjuster is included in the path of force transmission from the piston for applying the brake blocks by the spring for parking, and a disengagement mechanism being provided for overcoming the spring to allow release of the brake blocks in the absence of fluid pressure for overcoming the spring. In the embodiment illustrated the force transmitting means comprises two pull rods 6 although it may comprise a chain, cable or other tension element. The service brake actuator 2 actuates the brake blocks via a system of levers and rods. The connection part 21 is arranged not to move when actuator 2 is actuated by fluid pressure, and to ensure that brake - releasing and -applying actions of actuator 2 are unaffected by actuator 5 so long as it is supplied with fluid pressure lost motion means such as slots in pull rods 6 are provided. The disengagement means is disposed within the actuator 5-a control means 51 is visible from the outside. After the disengagement mechanism has been actuated to release the brake blocks, then upon supply of fluid pressure to overcome the spring the parts therein automatically return to their original force-transmitting positions. |
