Zusammenfassung:	1531320 Valves BERGWERKSVERBAND GmbH 20 Dec 1976 [14 Jan 1976] 53131/76 Heading F2V In a gate valve, two parallel valve plates 4, 5 are moved towards and away from respective valve seats by means of a scissor mechanism positioned between the plates and comprising at least one pair of forked arms 7 pivotally mounted intermediate their ends on a transverse rod 11, the forked end of each arm 7 being engaged by a roller 12 carried by an actuator 6 while the other end of the arm is pivoted to a respective valve plate 4 or 5. A fluid pressure operated rod 20 controls the movement of the valve gate into and out of the flow path. When in the closed position the rod 11 engages abutments on the valve housing so that further movement of the rod 20 advances the actuator 6 and the associated rollers 12 thus pivoting the arms 7 away from each other and urging the plates 4, 5 against their respective seats.
