1530470 Cable joint box DRAKA KABEL BV 12 Dec 1975 [16 Dec 1974] 51005/75 Heading H2E A trough-shaped cable joint box with U- shaped entrances having guides for sealing partitions and means to fix the position of the partitions in accordance with the thickness of the cables, the wall of the box and the edges of the partitions, where they meet, being flat. The embodiment (Figs. 1 & 5) has a body 1 of synthetic resin material with entrances 2, 3 and guides 4. The sealing partition 5 (Fig. 5) consists of a plate 5 with parallel slots 6 and metal strips 7 which form self-clamping means acting against the body 1. An aperture 9, in this case semicircular but may be semiellipsoidal, a semicircular portion 10 of the entrance form a passage 11 for the cables. A joint is produced by joining the cables, placing them in the box 1, sealing the entrances with the partitions 5 and filling the box with casting resin; a lid (not shown) may be provided. Additional metal strips may be provided, also, on the body 1.
