Zusammenfassung:Gas scavenging plug, esp. for melting vessel crucibles etc. has a gas-tight cladding which is welded together from a sheet sheath extending round the conical circumference of the plug and a disc covering the end face of the plug. The latter has an opening for the gas, and the outer end of the sheath flanges inwards over the end face and a circumferential weld seals it gas-tight to the end disc. The plug is light not easily damaged during handling, and the cladding is not loosened by gas flowing between the plug material and the cladding.
