Zusammenfassung:	Plastics moulding cpds. are mfd. by dosing separate amts. of plastics material, filler, extender, flame-retardant and desired additive(s), and mixing and kneading the ingredients in a twin-screw arrangement which consists of a pair of conter-rotating screws installed side-by-side, so that the materials are fed between the screws intimately mixed and melted, after which they are discharged through an outlet, with any humidity and gases contained in them being simultaneously extracted. The process is relatively inexpensive whilst, at the same time, the physical characteristics of the resulting moulding cpd. are good. The process is suitable for the working-up of plastics scrap.
