Hygienic swimming pool water intake system - has part of inflow horizontally directed across bottom to move impurities

A water feed system for swimming pools, where high hygienic standards are essential, is used where the water is brought in by the displacement principle. Part, at least, of the volume of water to be introduced, near the pool bottom, is ducted in horizontally above the bottom. The inlet apertures are preferably evenly distributed on the bottom surface, with a larger volume entering horizontally and a smaller one vertically. In addition to the overflow (9) at one end of the pool (1), near the bottom, there can be one or more draw-off outlets (7) for water, while one or more horizontally aligned inlet apertures (5) are fitted at the opposite end, also near the bottom. Sedimentation of coarse impurities is prevented by the current of water flowing across the bottom of the pool.
