Zusammenfassung:The network of hemp rope is secured to the shell of the furnace and the monolithic refractory is then cast in place perforated by channels running radially from the shell to the inside of the furnace. These channels are associated with the rope network. When the furnace warmed up initially the hemp ropes suck up moisture uniformly from the refractory as it dries out and this water passes out through the perforated channels into the furnace interior. When the normal operating temperature is reached the ropes and their cement burn away without residue leaving a further series of channels in the refractory. Used in industrial ovens and furnaces which have cast or formed refractory linings requiring to be dewatered before initial use. Provides uniform removal of water from the refractory allowing rapid initial heating up before use.
