Closing and opening deep-drawing half moulds - by exerting and maintaining a closing force by compressed air and opening by mechanical eccentric drive

The appts. includes a stationary half mould and a movable half mould, the latter being supported y a piston rod whose free face is acted upon by compressed air supplied to a membrane by a compressed air conduit. Piston rod is provided intermediate its length with a radial recess in which is located an eccentric driven by a shaft to allow the piston rod to close the mould. Following deformation of a plastics foil the shaft is driven in the opposite direction to open the mould. Closing of mould takes place with adjustable force and with overload protection.
