Zusammenfassung:The system for maintaining radial and angular alignment of the timing drum is intended for rotary piston engines generally as described in 23 54 531. The system comprises a locating plate (75) firmly connected to an auxiliary shaft (35) co-axial with, and supported in two places (77, 78) by, the main shaft (6). The timing drum (22) is secured to the locating plate (75) via a flanged cover (52) and a backing ring (79). Distance pieces on bolts screwed into the drum passing through cover and backing ring (79) ensure that, while some axial movement of the drum is possible, radial or angular movement is not.
