1508819 Weft selection, jet looms ELITEX 21 Aug 1975 [4 Sept 1974] 34734/75 Heading DIE [Also in Division Fl] Reciprocating piston pumps 8, 9 and 8', 9' for delivering liquid to respective weft insestion nozzles 15, 15' of a loom are actuated by a mechanism 1-7 which drives the pistons 8, 8' 8' through their suction strokes while simultaneously compressing springs 18, 18', the subsequent release of the springs 18, 18' only causing the delivery strokes when distributing valves 10, 10' in the delivery lines 16, 17 and 16', 17' to the nozzles are opened. The mechanism 1-7 shown comprises a shaft 1, levers 3, 5 secured to the shaft 1, and levers 2, 2' pivotable about the shaft 1. An internal cam 7 causes oscillation of the shaft 1 via a roller 6 on the outer end of the lever 3. The consequential oscillations of the lever 5 push the levers 2, 2' downwardly taking therewith the piston rods of the pistons 8, 8'. The distributing valves 10, 10' are operated by cams 14, 14' acting through levers 12, 12' and shafts 11, 11'. Mechanism 1-7 may be replaced by a reciprocating member arranged to compress the levers 2, 2' periodically.
