Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:1505706 Laminates BATTELLE MEMORIAL INSTITUTE 13 Aug 1975 [16 Aug 1974] 33794/75 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] Photosetting adhesives useful in the production of laminated articles including at least one surface layer capable of transmitting U.V. light comprise a homogeneous mixture of (A) acrylic acid, (B) 0À5-10% (based on the weight of the mixture) of a free radical photoinitiator which is activatable by electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength of at least 0À3 micron, (C) at least one methacrylic acid ester present in an amount not greater than 15% of the mixture, and (D) acrylamide and/or methacrylamide present in an amount not greater than 15% of the mixture. Component (C) is preferably selected from dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate, diethylaminoethyl methacrylate and tbutylaminoethyl methacrylate. Examples of the photoinitiator are naphthalene sulphonyl chloride, benzoin, 2-chloroanthraquinone, 2- ethylanthraquinone, anthraquinone - 2 - carboxylic acid and 2-(α-acetoxyethyl)-anthraquinone. The adhesive may be used to bond a transparent substrate, e.g. glass or polyester, such as polyethylene terephthalate, to another substrate, e.g. a plate or foil of a metal such as aluminium, or glass, ceramics, porcelain, wood or plastics material. The adhesive is set by irradiating the laminate assembly with the stated radiation through a transparent surface layer.
