Zusammenfassung:	Aqs. polymer latices for coatings are prepd. by the aqs. emulsion polymsn. of a mixt. of (I) an romatic vinyl cpd., (II) a diene, (III) an unsatd, carboxylic acid, and (IV) 2-40 wt%, based on monomer mixt., of a prod. prepd. by esterifying a Diels-Alder adduct of maleic acid. Conversions of practically 100% are possible even when the latex has a high solid content. Cocn. of the latex and monomer removal are avoided. Gives good stability during storage and use.
