Wall housed inbuilt roller blind winding drum unit - has sidewall vertical to cover plate containing passage for draw cord

The built-in unit, with a spring drum and a guideway for rolling and unrolling draw cords attached to roller blinds, or similar fittings, is built in under the finished surface of a wall in a building. There is a cover plate, extending parallel to the cross-sectional plane of the spring drum, for sealing the wall opening which houses the built-in unit. A sidewall piece is mounted at right angles to the cover plate, containing a through aperture for the draw cord, working in conjunction with the guideway. The sidewall unit may be narrower than the cover plate, which may be detachably fastened to a frame which carries the spring drum. This can be given a sunken housing in walls assembled from prefabricated parts.
