Zusammenfassung:The 12-30C fatty alcohols are obtd. by reacting (a) 5-60 mol. propylene oxide and/or (b) 0.05-20 mol. ethylene oxide, with 1 mol. of the alcohol. Effective amts. used comprise 0.005-0.1, pref. 0.01-0.06%, calc. on the dry fibres in the paper fibre suspension. The cpd. has max. activity with min. consumption. It forms emulsions with oils which are stable over prolonged periods and which do not cream up. The cpd. has a relatively reduced viscosity.
