Zusammenfassung: | The railway engine transmission housing consists of rigid casing to accommodate the driving engine and driven bevel gear meshing with a greater wheel. The casing (1) is split into an upper section (12) enclosing the driven pinion and the lower section (11) enclosing the large diameter wheel (2), and the split is coplanar with the large wheel axis. The large wheel and pinion each consist of two toothed wheels keyed to the shafts. The two casing halves are fitted to the shaft hub with a seal (4). There is a bearing plate attached to the drive motor, and the upper casing (12) is attached to this by a ring with a labyrinth seal on its inner surface. |
