Zusammenfassung: | A plant for filling radioactive resins into waste containers comprises a delivery container, an intermediate collector, which stores the material temporarily before it is transferred to the waste container, and an interconnecting pipe system. All the pipes in the system, while they contain resin, are continuously at sub-atmospheric pressure, the resin being preferably transported by vacuum. Used for disposing of radioactive resins produced from nuclear plants. By conducting the resins in a sub-atmospheric piping system, the risk of radioactive contamination due to leakage is eliminated. The quantity of water which becomes contaminated is reduced with consequent reduction in water processing costs, and general maintenance is minimised. Typically, the plant is intended for loading radioactive resins into waste containers of 200 litre capacity. |
