Zusammenfassung: | 1496074 Coupling element PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 7 May 1975 [10 May 1974] 19167/75 Heading C1J [Also in Division H3] A coupling element for converting an input quantity, e.g. a magnetic field, into an output quantity, e.g. an electric field, via a third quantity, e.g. mechanical vibrations, comprises a unidirectionally decomposed composite material having two phases, one of which consists at least partly of primary precipitations, e.g. cellular or dendritic precipitations. As described the first phase is a piezomagnetic mixed crystal of partly in the form of primary precipitations, and the second phase is piezoelectric BaTiO 3 . The unidirectional decomposition may be effected by unidirectional solidification or by decomposition of a single-phase material, which may be crystalline, into two crystalline phases. The composite material may comprise laminations of alternate phases, or needles of one phase embedded in the other. |
