Synchronised tape reader - operates for varying tape speeds using time and data tracks and reading heads
A device for automatically reading identification character codes on a tape (L) can operate with non-uniform tape speeds using fixed reading heads past which the tape travels. A first (LK1) and a second (LK2) reading head are mounted a fixed distance (12) apart and are part of a reading unit (LE). T...

Zusammenfassung: | A device for automatically reading identification character codes on a tape (L) can operate with non-uniform tape speeds using fixed reading heads past which the tape travels. A first (LK1) and a second (LK2) reading head are mounted a fixed distance (12) apart and are part of a reading unit (LE). The first reading head (LK1) reads the identity characters from the tape and the second head (LK2) reads from a time track on the tape. Time information is passed from the reading unit (LE) to a control register (SPST) which synchronises the reception of identification data by a second store (SPE), from which the data is transferred to a decoder (ICA), and thence to a test unit (PPV) programmed when the tape is loaded. |
