Motor vehicle fuel consumption meter - integrates pulses from fuel rate and distance recording pick ups for analog display

The motor vehicle fuel consumption meter comprises two pulse generators - one working from a fuel measuring device (M) and the other from the vehicle odometer (S). Both sets of impulses are used to trigger monostable circuits (MF1, MF2) which produce pulses of constant width and amplitude. The output from the fuel consumption monostable is integrated (I1) and amplified. The capacitor forming part of the integrator staircase generator is periodically discharged by a pulse from the second monostable operating from the vehicle distance recording device. A further resistance-capacitance integrator (I2) with amplifier (V2) DC-restores the signal for a moving-coil instrument (M1). This can be calibrated to indicated fuel consumption in Litres per hundred Kilometers, for example.
