Zusammenfassung:4-Oxo-thiazolidin-2-ylidene-acetic acids of formula (I) and their salts are new: (where R1 is 1-4C alkyl). Cpds. (I) are diuretics which increases the flow of blood through the kidneys by 30-50% without a redn. in filtering action; they thus have high antihypertensive activity and also have a regulating effect on the body temp. Their acute txocity is low, e.g. the LD50 of (I; R1 = Me) is >1000 mg./kg. (i.v., rat).
