Flat knitting machine needle bed displacement indicator - with directional displacement indication

Double bed knitting machine needle bed indicator is provided with a pointer indicating continuously the mutual directional displacement of the two needle beds relative to each other. Pointer is formed by a housing mounted on the movable needle bed and provided with an indicator window which co-operates with a slider mounted on fixed guide rail for sliding movement between two end positions defined by stops. Slider is moved by the stops and is provided with a pair of indicating marks in form of triangles which about each other with their apices. Pref. the spacing between the stops and the slides edges is such that on reversal of the needle bed displacement only one triangle is visible between two displacement positions. The pointer is pref. provided adjacent a handle effecting the needle bed displacement.
