Electromagnetic oscillator for IC engine fuel injection pump - has poles arranged to give constant force on armature over whole displacement

The electromagnetic oscillator for fuel injection pumps in internal combustion engines has an adjustable armature driven backwards and forwards between two magnetic poles producing an alternating field. The poles, either on the stator (1) or on the armature (4), are arranged on the corresponding part of a magnetic with constant field direction. The armature is constructed as the magnetic core of an electromagnet (6) supplied with alternating current. The armature can be adjusted between the poles (2, 3) of the magnet with constant field direction. The system keeps the force acting on the armature the same, as far as possible, over its entire displacement range.
