The holder, for a flat piezoelectric resonator, has a quartz plate held by two wire supports that also act as contacts. Each wire is itself ehdl by an insulating base, and the upper end of each wire has a notch set in it to form a ledge that supports the edge of the quartz plate. Contact is made to the quartz plate by bending down the head of the wire lying above the quartz plate, and the contact point is formed by the lower outer edge of the recess that makes the ledge. The support wires pass down through the base to form external contacts.
