Impurity extraction from sliver - has air screen in open-end spinner to direct flow of hard loose waste

The sliver-opening and fibre-loosening system of an open-end spinning unit has an air screen (E), running parallel with a tangent to the surface of the combing roller developed by the air passing through the gap with the rotation of the roller. The compressed air, together with any loose impurities passes into a collection chamber while the loosened fibres pass into the spinning zone. The system ensures that hard foreign matter is extracted from the sliver during the fibre-loosening process, and that impurities are carried away from the spinning zone and are prevented and being deflected into the spinning rotor.
