Signal transmission esp. wideband communication system - has repeaters with signal generators and fault location device

The communication signal transmission system comprises a number of repeaters with signal generators connected to them. When a repeater is operative, it responds to a location signal consisting of an h.f. carrier signal modulated with an l.f. signal, and delivers to the network a characteristic for the repeater signal frequency. An evaluating device selectively indicates location signals from the repeaters. The network is divided in line sections with repeaters connected in series, whose signal generators deliver a signal whose carrier frequency is characteristic for repeaters in one line section, and is modulated by an l.f. frequency characteristic for each receiver within the section.
