Moving belt press for slurries - follows general V-path with downward first stage upward second stage

A press for removing water from sludges, slurries and suspensions comprises continuous, roller-mounted, upper and lower endless sieve belts, with a wedge-shaped tapering first portion and parallel second portion where most of the water is squeezed out, preceded by a feed station where sludge is fed onto the inverted upper side of the upper belt. The wedge portion descends obliquely, the second, parallel portion ascends obliquely, thus forming a symmetrical V. This, joining the feed station completes a pref. equilateral triangle.
