Zusammenfassung:	1464370 Ink jets IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 June 1974 [13 June 1973] 28168/73 Addition to 1354890 Heading B6P The earlier ink jet printing apparatus is further characterized in that each row of printing guns has a rigidly mounted manifold 3, orifices 2 formed in a housing 1 and a source of pressure variation applied directly or via an impervious membrane to the ink. As shown in Fig. 1 the pressure variation is provided by piezo-electric crystal 5. Alternatively, Fig. 3 (not shown), the manifold may be located outside the housing. In another embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown) the crystal 5 is separated from the ink in the housing by an impervious membrane.
