Zusammenfassung:	Aq coating and covering media contain short fibres having a high degree of fibrillation, from water-, alkali- and acid-insoluble thermoplastics. They are useful as paints, resin-bonded plasters, adhesives, paper coating compsns., putties and cements. Thickening activity of most water-repellent polymer fibrils can reach, in aq. systems, that of many water-soluble thickners. Films obtd. are waterproof. Polymers may be esp. 2-8 C -olefin polymers, polymethyl methacrylate and polyvinyl halides.
