Zusammenfassung:1468175 Vaporizing I C engine fuel charge SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 17 April 1974 [19 April 1973] 18889/73 Heading F1B Fuel to be mixed with the main stream of combustion air fed to an engine is heated by condensation of the vapour phase of a heat transfer fluid, having a boiling point at atmospheric pressure up to 400‹C, within a pipe 10 or a plurality of pipes. The liquid phase of the fluid is heated by engine exhaust gases and a valve 14 in the exhaust system is operable so that part of the exhaust gases may be discharged without contacting the pipe. The description of the pipe 10 and ancillary apparatus in this Specification is substantially the same as that described in Specification 1467255.
