Substd. benzylamines as vascular tone regulators - prepd. by standard methods of alkylation, reduction of amides, or imines

Aralkylamines (I) and their acid addition salts (where R1 is phenyl opt. substd. by 2-4 (1-4C) alkyl gps. the total C content being =6, and when an alkyl gp. is in the para position there is no alkyl gp. in the metaposition, or by 1 or 2 halogens or NO2 provided that any F atom is in the para position and when two halogens are present, both are in the ortho-positions; R2 is 4-10C alyl opt. interrupted by O and opt. substd. by OH provided that a branch chain on the C atom beta to N is present only with other branch chains, the alkyl chain has is not >3 branches and alkyl group on the alpha C is methyl; R3 is H, 1-4C alkyl opt. substd. by -P(O)R4R5 and R4 and R5 are alkyl and contain a total of 2-6C) are regulators of vascular tone, anti-oedemic and analgesic agents and are well tolerated.
