Zusammenfassung: | The end-insulation remover, for testing communications cable wires, removes the protective sealing insulation, e.g. polyethylene and a vaseline-type substance from around the wires so that they may be tested immediately after manufacture. First, the outer sleeve is removed, and then the vaseline substance is dissolved in an organic solvent, e.g. trichloroethane, under the action of ultra-sonic waves. The organic solvent is re-cycled and held at a temperature of approx. 50 deg.C. The cable's tripped end is placed inside a vessel through which the solvent circulates from the bottom to the top. The cable's outer sleeve is sealed with rings to the vessel's upper end. The ultrasonic device encloses the centre portion outside the vessel. |
