Zusammenfassung:In the continuous casting process every second billet is turned around its longitudinal axis before reaching the tempering furnace. Then the billets are left in the tempering furnace next to each other, until they have the same temperature along their whole length. They are then consecutively applied to a conduction heating device. The billets in the tempering furnace are heated to a temperature below that reached in the conduction heating device. The turning device and furnace are placed in the billet path from the cutting station behind the casting station, and the conduction heating device.
