Zusammenfassung:Rack and pinion lifting jack includes a reduction gearbox with a brake for lifted loads and with a ratchet pawl freely mounted on the gearbox shaft. The pawl is driven by means of a safety device attached to the pawl and clamped on the gearbox shaft to provide a friction driving grip with its surface and its disengaging movement is limited by a stop. The pawl whichis mounted on shaft of the gearbox by which the jack is operated is fitted opposite its tooth with a projection which is sliding on circumferential surface of ratchet wheel and so forming the stop for limiting the pawl movement. The safety device consists of a spring which is at least partly embracing and clamping the gearbox shaft.
