Zusammenfassung: | The ignition system, for combustion engines, has a steel block set into the circumference of a brass sleeve fixed to the engine shaft. A magnetic pulse generator is fixed to the engine housing and its core-ends face the brass sleeve. Each time the steel block passes the generator the latter produces a pulse which is used to control the switch that passes the ignition voltage through via the h.v. transformer to the spark plug electrodes. Steel and brass are chosen because they can have approx. the same density and therefore do not upset the balance of the shaft. |
