Zusammenfassung:Transportable container for weakly radio-active waste comprising an inner 250 litre drum which at the filling stage is located within an open top cylindrical concrete vessel. When filled the drum is sealed and concreted to form a gas tight shielded containment maintaining surface dose rates within the permissible 200 mrem/hr limit. Lifting attachment integral with the vessel and a fabricated lifting beam facilitate loading and unloading of the containment onto and off a rail container transporter incorporating stabilising features.
