Impact actuated line isolator switch - has metal inertia body with sprung latch for coupling two conductors in its locked position

The inertia body is at least partly of metal and bears conductively against two electric, mutually insulated conductors for their connection in its locked position. It has at least one delocked position for the conductors separation. The insulator switch may be used in motor vehicles with electric I.C. engine coil ignition, and in such case the released inertia body may connect two electric contacts for earthing the ignition coil. The inertia body may be a sphere mounted inside a hollow body, having recesses for apertures on at least two sides receiving the sphere, in addition to the locked position. Conductive sheets may cover part of the cavity bottom in connection with terminals through the cavity walls.
