Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a cathode for an aluminium fusion electrolysis cell, particularly to a cathode in the form of a pot, comprising walls of electrically conducting material and a coating on the inner surface of the walls of a ceramic material which is electrically conducting and insoluble in fused cryolite and in molten aluminium and further to a method of making a pot in which the ceramic material is applied in finely dispersed form with such energy as to produce adhesion between the ceramic material and the inner surface of the pot and consolidation of the ceramic material.
