Zusammenfassung: | Gamma irradiation facilities comprising one operational one standby in which liq. metal e.g. indium-gallium, indium-bismuth or gallium-zinc is circulated by electromagnetic pumps from a mixing chamber after prior activation in a reactor irradiation loop. Operational simplicity and reliability are enhanced by the absence of mechanical isolation and the hydraulic integrity of the loops through a vacuum pump connected to the liq. metal storage with an interconnecting line to the mixing chamber. The circulation pipe loops to the reactor and gamma irradiation facilities are housed within common biological shields. |
