Zusammenfassung: | Electrical insulating materials are made by (1) impregnating a carrier layer of organic or mineral origin with a modified unsatd. polyester resin contg. (per unit of condensation) 1 double bond 0.5-2 (esp. 1-1.5) tert. CH gps. and >1 lateral ethyl gp. and having a degree of condensation of is not 7-8 units of condensation, modified with a diisocyanate and pref. contg. 30-50% of an acrylate derived from a 1-4C alcohol as copolymerisable monomer (2) guiding without contact for a short distance and (3) curing the material by exposure to high energy radiation under an inert atmos. Process gives insulating matls. with excellent electrical props. without using supplementary solvents, and allows very high rates of prodn. compared with the use of known matls such as alkyd or polyurethane resins. |
