These members may be made by folding a sheet of polyethylene vinyl acetate and welding along the edge: they distend to permit flow in one direction and collapse to prevent reverse flow. When the tank 3 is being filled, valve 5 opens and discharges fluid in a silent manner beneath the surface. In the event of suction conditions occurring in the main supply pipe 2, valve 6 opens to break the vacuum.
